I design and build minimalist products. I work with steel, wood, cork and other natural materials. My approach centers on sustainability and functional design.

S+Stand
This minimalist piece draws inspiration from the art of origami and employs ingenious metal bending and clever geometry to achieve a super strong, yet flexible and lightweight structure.
Handcrafted out of 8mm thick stainless steel bar, it holds effortlessly bicycles of any weight. The flexible self-adjusting arms provide for a gentle hold on the wheel, yet also a firm grip thanks to steel elasticity. The bar comes in a brushed finish. This model features a protective wrap made of hemp cord. It's there to fully care for the spokes, and for your peace of mind. The cover also adds a touch of color, to either complement the bike, the room where it rests, or both. Hemp has been specifically chosen thanks to its exceptional durability and sustainability attributes.S+Stand fits bikes with 26″ to 28″ wheels, allows tires from 23mm wide up to 50mm. Can be used for front or back wheel, depending on the bike (i.e. geared bikes fitted with derraileurs - suggested use on front wheel). It is intended for indoor use only.

Primordial Chair
Primordial Chair takes the most primal 3-dimensional shape and applies it to the omnipresent chair, carving just the right volumes to achieve an ergonomic, balanced and comfortable seating position, while maintaining the overall curvy and esthetically pleasing spherical appearance.

S+Stem
The S+Stem project involved designing and engineering a rotating bike stem. The twisting stem allows bicycles to occupy less space in the hallway of the house, in the shed or when parked outside.
S+Bikes has been awarded a patent for this innovation.

About me
My work involves product engineering, industrial design and craft work. I get inspired by and create with simplicity, minimalism and modern esthetics in mind.I summarize my design philosophy and approach with 3 concepts:
Long-lasting products
As a measure of sustainability of a product, long lasting products are technically more sustainable than short lifespan products. Long lasting products create less waste, have a lesser impact on the environment on all levels of the supply chain, and over their life span they simply need less energy and resources to be managed if designed correctly.
Impermanently Permanent
One could call this a complicated way of saying zero waste. But zero waste is much more to the extreme end of the sustainability spectrum. Impermanently Permanent is a concept I formulated which refers to creating permanent, solid, high-quality products all while being impermanent - easily dismantable, recyclable, biodegradable - simply said, that can be returned to nature or society in a safe way for all participants at life.
Timeless design
For all this to make sense, lasting products must stay relevant. Trends, styles, tastes and preferences come and go with every new generation and with the constant update and upgrade in awareness over our needs as humans. Hence, the natural solution to stay relevant as a long lasting product is to have a timeless design.
So far most of my creations revolve around the bicycle sphere.I was a finalist at Eurobike Start-up competition in 2018 with the S+Stem product (a rotating bike stem which folds the handlebars and saves space when parking the bike)The same year I was awarded a patent for this innovation. In 2019 I exhibited at Dutch Design Week, showcasing S+Stem and S+Stand products as part of S+Bikes line-up, which consists the bulk of my work since then.
